Here's What We Know So Far About Red Bull Summer Edition

Another season, another new limited-time Red Bull flavor. Unlike my favorite Summer Edition to date (2021's Dragonfruit, which was renamed Green Edition when it was made permanent in 2022), the flavor profile on this one is a lot more specific.

This year's Summer Edition Red Bull is even more exotic than usual, flavored with elderflower and curuba, aka banana passion fruit. If you're not from Colombia, curuba's native land, then chances are you have never had curuba.

Curuba is also known as the banana passionfruit. It is a long, yellow passionfruit and is said to taste like a cross between passionfruit and peach. Elderflower is floral and slightly fruity. It is the precursor to the elderberry.

Curuba, or Banana Passion Fruit, is an exotic fruit of the same family as passionflower.

The new offering, which is now available nationwide, delivers the benefits of Red Bull Energy Drink with a burst of curuba, citrus, melon and an elderflower finish.

The 80 mg of caffeine contained in one 8.4 fl. oz. can of Red Bull Energy Drink is about the same amount as in a cup of home brewed coffee.

The melon is definitely stronger than the citrus flavor, but that's not a bad thing where I'm concerned.
